Abstract

The suspended handgrip (45) may be used by patients in a hospital bed, to enable them to lift themselves up and move around. The grip is suspended on a wire (44) attached to the end of a curved arm (43). The lower end (40) of the arm is vertical and is held in two clamps (27,28) on a support frame (1). The frame is a metal sheet or plate bent into a shallow U- or channel-section with splayed-out feet at the bottom which may be bolted to the structure of the bed.
