Abstract

2.1 The invention is based on a synchronisation method for a GSM mobile telephone. The synchronisation for a mobile telephone of this type must satisfy stringent requirements in terms of transmission reliability and accuracy and is intended to be implementable at minimum technical expense. 2.2 In the synchronisation method according to the invention, initial synchronisation, normal-operation synchronisation and final synchronisation take place during normal operation in the mobile telephone. The initial synchronisation is divided into rough frequency synchronisation, rough frame synchronisation and fine frequency synchronisation and fine frame synchronisation, whereas the normal-operation synchronisation comprises fine frame synchronisation with fine frequency synchronisation and data signal pre-processing, and the final synchronisation comprises rough frame synchronisation and fine frame synchronisation with fine frequency synchronisation. 3. The drawing shows a block diagram of the receiving unit of a mobile telephone. <IMAGE>
