Abstract

In a compression-type sleeve (1) for creating a crimped joint with a strand, in particular an electrical conductor, the inner sleeve surface is provided, at least in the ring-zones subject to pressure, with groove-like cavities (5) which extend along the length of the sleeve. The groove-like cavities (5) are of a depth which reduces the thickness of the compression-type sleeve to the extent that longitudinal edges are formed along the cavities (5) when the crimping pressure is applied, and/or are shaped in at least one of the faces of the compression-type sleeve (1) in the form of pressure-relief channels for compressed grease.
