Abstract
1. A process for iron ore sintering, according to which predrying and postignition are carried out respectively prior to and after ignition of the charge to be sintered by means of hot gaseous flows passing through said charge, the postignition gaseous flow being oxidizing, characterized in that the predrying gaseous flow and the postignition gaseous flow, are fumes orginated separately from the combustion of iron and steel making effluents, in that the fumes of said predrying gaseous flow are non-oxidizing and in that said predrying non-oxidizing fumes are brought in contact with the charge at a temperature no higher than 850 degrees C.
