Abstract

In order to describe the quality of paper, different paper web properties, such as for example fibre orientation, formation, opacity, basis weight and shrinkage, are generally used, each of these properties being determined per se. According to the invention, at least the fibre orientation on the paper web is measured quantitatively continuously and used to control the transverse formation profile during operation of a paper-making machine. An associated arrangement is characterized by a fibre orientation control circuit (3).
