Abstract
The triple axle bogey construction has the three axles and attached drive motors (16,17,18) mounted between the parallel supports (2,3) of the bogey. The outer two wheel units have their axle bearings adjustable longitudinally (x1-x2) to adapt to curves. The central wheel unit has axial movement (y1-y2) on its bearings to enable a servo (22) to move the wheel unit in either direction and obtain good tracking during cornering. The middle wheel unit servo is a double acting ram and is controlled by the centrifugal force on the bogey. This spreads the reaction force of the wheels on the outer rail of the curve. The displacement can also be controlled w.r.t. curvature of the rails. <IMAGE>
