Abstract

Room-air cleaning device, in particular a portable room-air cleaning device, having an intake device for the room-air to be cleaned, a blower with drive and adjustable blower output, a filter device and a clean-air outlet, the components described above being accommodated in a common housing. The filter device comprises a filter unit made up of a suspended-matter filter and a sorption filter. At least the sorption filter is designed as a sound-damping device. The drive of the blower is adjusted without consideration of the sound output level at the outlet of the blower and without consideration of the resulting volume of the sound emanating with the cleaned air, as required by the maximum volumetric flow to be cleaned, taking into account the pressure loss occurring in the filter unit. The sound-damping device is adjusted in such a way that the volume of the sound emanating at the maximum volumetric flow is reduced by 8 to 25 dB(A) in accordance with DIN ISO 651 and the sound pressure does not exceed the comfort threshold of a maximum of 30 dB(A). Moreover, the drive of the blower can be controlled or regulated to lower volumetric flows than corresponds to the maximum volumetric flow. <IMAGE>
