Abstract

The invention relates to a filing device for clamping non-perforated sheets, having a spine cover (10) consisting of flat material, especially plastic sheeting, and a clamp (16) of substantially U-shaped cross-section which is capable of limited displacement transversely to an edge (14) of the spine cover. The clamp (16) has two resiliently splayable clamp legs (20, 22), of which one, the rear clamp leg (20), engages behind the spine cover and the other, the front clamp leg, can be pushed onto the front cover or onto a fold in the front or spine cover or directly onto the sheets (26), with intermediate clamping of the sheets (26). In order to achieve better guidance of the clamp (16) on the filing device and to avoid the risk of damage caused by the clamp, the spine cover (10) has two guide ribs (32) arranged at a distance apart and engaging over the side edges (36) of the rear clamp leg (20), and a transverse rib (34) arranged at a distance from the edge (14) and engaging over the free end edge (38) of the clamping leg (20) in the pushed-on position thereof.
