Abstract

A current-compensated network choke coil for damping or suppressing active unbalanced RF interference on the network is proposed, which has, in a known manner, a homogeneously, intrinsically closed frame-shaped core 1 and a coil former 2, arranged thereon, for the coil windings 8. Network choke coils of this generic type are particularly advantageous from the electromagnetic point of view, but until now could not be produced easily since, in the known designs, because of the integral core, a coil former is used which consists of two half shells which must be assembled around the core in a separate assembly step, in a time-consuming manner with a considerable apparatus cost. In addition, the two-piece coil former in the known network choke coils of the generic type consumes a large amount of winding space and can be wound only using wire having a small cross-section. According to the invention, these disadvantages of the known generic type of network choke coils are avoided by using an integral coil former 2 which is shaped in a special manner. <IMAGE>
