Elektrisches Relais.

Electric relay.
For a number of cases it seems to be particularly desirable to combine the most favorable properties of electromagnetic and electrical attraction according to the principle of Johnsen and Rahbek. Such a combination will be explained using an example:
On a flap cabinet for telephone purposes, a certain indicator is used for the duration of a call, a lamp is put on, a relay is activated or similar devices are used
EMI1.1
which the conversation is initiated, e.g.
B. in that a listener is removed from an apparatus or a button is pressed. 2. the period during which the conversation was carried out and 3. the period. which is necessary for the separation after the conversation has ended. During the first period z. B. by the existing electromagnet the show drawing in action, d. H. the armature of the electromagnet is attracted until it has reached the limit position.
From now on, i.e. during the second period of time, until the end of the conversation, it is only necessary to hold the indicator in its place until the end of this second period of time when the power is interrupted or the conversation is ended. This is where the combination sets in by for the further duration of the work activity. So during the entire duration of the conversation, an electrical adhesive force according to the Johnsen and Rahbek principle is used. The currents required here are much smaller than the current which excites pills electromagnets. As an embodiment, such an apparatus can be designed in this way. that the anchor of the Ebktromagneten, z.
B. the flap of the flap cabinet, is extended and

If the metallic flap is connected to one pole and the semiconductor to the other pole of a power source, it sticks after the magnet has attracted it and brought it to its end position. by the electrostatic attraction and can expediently switch off the electromagnet itself at the last moment of the movement. After the conversation has ended. thus in the third time part of the process under consideration. is blocked in the event of a power interruption. The advantage of such a facility
EMI1.3
while for the longer duration of the work only the smaller current that generates the electrostatic holding force is required.
The device described above is of course only one embodiment. Such a device can be used advantageously wherever the moving body or part of it is to be held in the new position for a longer period of time after a movement process, i.e. wherever short movement times and long rest periods are available. In heavy current telecommunications, such uses come mainly for brake magnet devices or for contactor reinforcements. Compared to the purely electrostatic relay, this device has the advantage that the movement force required there, which would have to be permanently available and z. B. can consist of a rotating motor, hiebei can be omitted and the electromagnet performs its previous function for the movement time.
In certain cases, this device can also be used particularly advantageously where electromagnetic attraction is already present and the new device is used from an additional device in order to achieve power savings during the long duration of the unchanged state.
