art and FIG. 11 is a cross section along line 11-11 of FIG. 10.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1-4, the air hose c consists of cells a with concavo-convex partitions b and a bottom opening d in each cell. The rubber strip e for closing these openings d is tubular or hollow and its cavity f forms the inflation channel. In cross-section, the strip e shows a meniscus shape with a concave surface corresponding to the tube circumference and sharp edges. The valveless rubber tubes sit on the concave surface at intervals corresponding to the cell length, the free ends of which protrude through the openings d into the individual cells of the tube when the strip is attached.
On the inside of the concave wall carrying the tubes g, two parallel longitudinal ribs h are provided, between which the tubes are

the convex surface of the septum lies, as shown in FIG. The union of the strip e with the tube c is effected by rubber solution or other suitable means. The functioning of an air hose of this type is the same as that of the older type, but it is easier to manufacture.
The mold for producing the hose c consists of two ring shells j. k (Fig. 4), the closing plane of which corresponds to the center plane of the wheel, perpendicular to the wheel axis, for which the hose is intended. Accordingly, the two shells have a semicircular cross section and flanges 1i1

In the annulus of the mold, a number of cores corresponding to the number of cells is arranged, which have exactly the shape of the cells to be produced, i.e. have a circular cross-section and a slight longitudinal arc shape, convex at one end, concave at the other and of such a dimension that the hose wall and the partitions b receive the same thickness.

protrudes through an opening 40 in the cell wall into one of the cells and the openings 40 are closed by the strip 41. Protruding edges of the strips 41 and 43 are then cut away.
The hose c is assembled as a closed ring from the cups, during the

shells 44, J, FIGS. 10 and 11, and can be closed by clamps 46 hinged at 47. The shells 44, 4, 5 have a cylindrical surface corresponding to the tube shape, but are expanded on the inner circumference to form a bulge 48 which serves to accommodate the inflation channel strip e. If the mold has been closed over the inserted air hose, a slight pressure is generated by pumping in air in the hose, approximately 1-5 atm, and then the mold is inserted into a vulcanizing apparatus.
