Procedure for operating steam systems.
The subject of the invention is a new method for the operation of such steam systems, which within certain periods of time for certain purposes, but only for a shorter time therethrough
EMI1.1
Such conditions exist, for example, in dairies, chocolate factories and other similar branches of industry. Here is the actual operating time, i.e. H. the time during which there is a greater need for steam, only a few hours a day. During the rest of the day, however, the need for steam is low. So far, the smaller amount of steam required to operate subordinate devices has also been taken from the boiler system, which is then heated accordingly less.
As a result, however, the economic efficiency of the system is considerably impaired, because the boilers operate with little load during the major part of the day and consequently with a very poor efficiency.
With a view to saving fuel in such operations, such types of boilers are usually used that can be easily heated and switched off. As a rule, these are non-walled boilers that have a small water space in relation to the heating surface. Although such boilers are not dangerous with regard to the risk of explosion, they require great attention on the part of the heater so that too much steam is not developed and steam losses are caused by blowing the safety valves. Conversely, however, the steam pressure must not drop too far below the prescribed level, because this is also not very advantageous for operation.
Since in such establishments the importance of good heat management is often not sufficiently appreciated, rather the heating of the boilers is generally carried out by people who are also employed elsewhere at the same time, the combustion process is usually a very poor and large part the heat expended is uselessly lost.
In order to achieve economic operation, it is necessary that the draft in the boilers is changed frequently according to the respective operating conditions, which, as is well known, has to happen in boilers with a small water space even with relatively small load fluctuations.
In addition, the boilers may need to be cooled more often by opening the fire doors, etc.
The present invention aims to eliminate the inconveniences found in such operations and this purpose is achieved according to the invention in that the steam required for operation is withdrawn from the boiler system during the time of the greater steam requirement and that at the same time or in direct connection therewith, i. H. immediately before or after this time a steam accumulator is charged which, after the boiler fire has been extinguished, is able to cover the lower steam requirement during the rest of the day.
This means that the time during which the boiler system is kept in operation and requires attentive operation is significantly reduced. Since the simultaneous charging of the storage tank during the time when the operation has the greatest steam demand requires the boiler system or a larger dimensioning of the same, the device can also be expediently designed so that the steam accumulator is not used during, but as mentioned , is charged immediately before or after the time of greatest steam requirement.
