  Eckverbindung.

  Corner connection.

The novel corner connection of the frame parts is characterized in that it is made by a single split pin which is inserted into one of the surfaces forming the frame corner. u. Zw. is driven in a direction inclined to all three surfaces.

Locks of a similar type are known per se, but have been made in the manner up to now
 EMI1.1
As a result of the shrinkage of the wood, even after the wood was painted, it remained visible and sometimes even emerged from the wood. In addition, this arrangement of a split pin, since it is perpendicular to the plane of the frame, has the disadvantage that it allowed the individual frame parts to be rotated slightly, so that corner fittings had to be arranged to secure the right-angled position of the frame. Due to the splinting which is the subject of the invention, the frame parts are not only locked in their two longitudinal directions, but also a stiffening is achieved because the position of the splint makes it impossible to pivot the frame parts.

In the drawing, a corner connection produced in the sense of the innovation is shown in a pictorial view.

To attach the split pin, the frame corner is drilled into one of the surfaces forming the corner in a direction x, z, which is inclined to all three corner surfaces. The axis x z of the bore 0 lies in a vertical projection plane x z y which forms an acute angle CI with respect to the vertical corner surface V. includes; the bore itself is inclined by an acute angle ss against the horizontal track z y of this plane, and also against the second horizontal surface forming the corner angle.

The end of the hole 0 extends approximately to Vs-1 cm to the front face s of the frame, so that it is not visible on this face s. The cotter pin a is then inserted into the hole 0 produced in this way
 EMI1.2

The corner connection described is preferably used in the manufacture of window frames, but can also be used for all other purposes and also when the corner angle is smaller or larger than 900.
