The same way of working, however, results in a slower operation and reduced performance of the press as well as too rapid wear of the upper mold.

pressing by means of two simultaneously moving upper molds, one of which pre-presses the brick and at the same time the other presses an already pre-pressed brick, so that pre-pressing and post-pressing take place in the same work step.
Since the different working surfaces of the revolver press are not in the same plane and accordingly the two upper molds do not have to be moved in a parallel direction, one of the upper molds is to be guided from a moving machine part at an angle to the direction of movement of the main press ram using suitable means of movement transmission, that it goes up and down perpendicular to a second working surface of the revolver drum. For example, the movement of the press ram carrying the second upper mold can take place by means of a second pressure wave, which is actuated from the main pressure wave and is located in front of it, by means of tie rods and guide levers.
Pre- and post-pressing can in principle take place on any work surface of the drum. Normally, however, the re-pressing takes place by the main press ram, which is moved in the vertical direction, when the brick is in a horizontal position, and the pre-pressing takes place when the brick is previously inclined. It is conceivable per se that the pre-pressing takes place, for example, on the working surface of the revolver drum directly in front of the horizontal surface, that is to say on its upper side.
However, it is more advantageous to carry out the pre-compression on the lower side of the revolver drum.
This offers the advantage that during the pre-pressing the excess clay mass, the so-called press burr, cannot fall onto the pressed part and damage it, which was perceived as a major problem with the revolving presses that have been used up to now.
In order to prevent the brick from falling down or peeling off on the underside of the drum after the pre-pressing has been completed, it is still necessary to keep the iron edge of the lower mold wide so that the brick adheres to it, while conversely the iron edge of the upper mold must be narrow. The small amount of clay, which emerges as press burr during re-pressing, is expediently separated from the brick in a known manner by a burr cutter after re-pressing has taken place.
In the drawings, an embodiment of the invention is shown and shows: FIG. 1 the side view, locking side, FIG. 2 the side view in section, pressing ram, FIG. 3 the side view in section, pressing ram not pressing, FIG. 4 the rear view, FIG 5 shows the side view, wheel side, FIG. 6 shows the front view (tail side).
The roof tile turret press has, in addition to its known press ram a, above the turret drum, also a second press ram b below the same, which is wedged on a shaft c, by means of two levers d, d1 attached to it, in the bolts e attached to the press columns; e1 is stored.
The press columns are equipped with cutouts f, t1 corresponding to the length of movement of the second press ram.
