The first embodiment (Fig. 1-11) represents the subject of the invention applied to the upper part of ordinary pocket watches, the plate of the dial 1 of usual dimensions being specially prepared, but without any change being necessary to the housing 2.
On the immovable dial a, only the minute signs and the second hand are like

saved, and between this and the middle of the sheet another one, which is designated in Fig. J with a2. Behind window a1, the numbers 1 to 24 appear one after the other, after 60 minutes each, which are arranged radially on the movable crown wheel. In the same way, the numbers 1-12 appear behind the window a2 at the same time, thus showing the previously common designation of the number of hours. These last digits are also in a radial arrangement on a disk? applied, which is placed loosely over the minute tube. The crown wheel bl and the disk b2 lie in the same planes and together result in the movable dial b.
The kroprad bl rotates within the dust ring 3 between three rollers c, each offset by 1200 against each other, which in corresponding,

The sector is also provided with a resilient lock ('7, which is cut out circularly around the shoulder screw a1 and the free end of which acts resiliently perpendicular to the surface of the sector f, so that it engages sharply into the teeth of the drive wheel ri when the sector rotates clockwise.
The thus formed sector e, which is freely on the shoulder screw dl between the plate 1 and the

gear engagement is secured. This tooth e2, which has been made flexible to enable the minute hand to be reset, is made of a metal that has been specially treated to ensure that the resilient tooth always returns exactly to its basic position.
It is immediately clear that the imaginary resetting of the minute wheel in the opposite direction to the rotation of the clockwise only affects the minute hand, since sector e does not move

whose pressure is significantly greater than the resistance of tooth e3. The crown wheel can only be set by turning the pointer forwards.

into the hour wheel &, which together with the hour hand firmly seated on it makes one complete revolution in one hour.
The jerky actuation of the crown wheel b1 takes place in the same way as in the first embodiment by the sector e, which sits freely on a shoulder screw e13 and which is under the action of a guide spring f. which is fixed in f1 b ('.
This sector e is provided with two toothings e14 and e15. which on the one hand in the minute wheel 5, from which the teeth have been milled out or removed, and on the other hand in the drive wheel d6.
The sector has a circular cutout e5 for receiving the pivot q of the second drive.
EMI5.1
serve on the one hand as a support point of the spring f and on the other hand to lock the crown wheel b1, in that e6 engages between two teeth of the drive wheel d after completing a gear.
The sector e becomes, as in the exemplary embodiments described above. operated every hour alternately in one direction of rotation by the minute tube 5 and in the other direction of rotation by the spring t.
Because it is constantly in engagement with the drive wheel d6. this is alternately taken in the clockwise direction for 59 minutes and 59 seconds and then suddenly turned back to its starting position in the opposite direction during the last hour.
EMI5.2
be that the crown wheel b1 makes a y, revolution when the drive wheels d6 and d mesh.
For example, if the crown wheel ss has 91 teeth, it would have to be rotated by seven teeth.
Since the crown wheel b1 is locked by a star spring A, it remains immobile, and also holds the drive wheel d tight as long as the drive wheel d6 is out of engagement with the drive wheel d under the action of the spring k, and also when the sector is moving moved in the opposite direction of the direction of rotation of the clockwise, with the drive wheel d6 sliding in like a lock in the wolf teeth do of the drive wheel d and locking it.
The mode of operation of this embodiment is therefore the same as in the example described earlier during the time from noon to midnight, in which the digits 13 to 24 are visible in the window a1. At the end of the next hour, i.e. at 1 o'clock in the morning, the crown wheel is still shifted 1/13 of a turn and the Roman numeral XII appears in the window al. Since the spring k is pressed down by the wheel for the next eleven hours, that is from one o'clock in the morning to noon, the drive wheels d and d6 are disengaged and the crown wheel b1 is thereby locked. The number XII remains immovable under the window al during this time and in this way completes the information on the immovable dial a.
The hours on the crown wheel P are plotted with 12 to 24, with twelve in Roman numerals if the immovable dial is provided with Roman numerals (Fig. 12). The designation
EMI5.3
can be replaced (Fig. 15).
The inner diameter of the crown wheel b1 is dimensioned so that the second drive 9 can be used in its usual place.
In the execution of this second embodiment, which is illustrated in FIGS. 19-23, the window a1 is provided below the designation 12 of the immovable dial. The movable dial is formed by a disk b2 to which a wheel b2 with 13 teeth is firmly connected and which sits loosely on the minute tube. The diameter of this disc is chosen to be so small. that the usual second drive 9 can be used.
EMI5.4
is inserted above sector e and is subject to the action of a spring f.
The sector e with the teeth e2 is in engagement with the not fully toothed minute wheel J and has an arm with a stop pin c and a spring pawl, which is formed by the circular blade e7, which
EMI5.5
reached into this wheel serves. The wheel b3 is prevented from reverse gear by a lock /. H. in that it moves clockwise and locks the drive wheel d while the

The sector c is thus locked for eleven consecutive hours, and thus also the movable dial, as explained above. As soon as the pin k @ lowers into the rest of the wheel l, the free end of the spring leaves 'the sector' and releases it for the action of the spring f and the moving dial is operated in the same way as during 13 consecutive hours in the versions shown earlier.
24-26 show a second possibility of the second embodiment. It has

In the first position, in which the teeth of the minute wheel 5 and the sector e are out of engagement, the movable dial is locked, while in the second position the same operation takes place as described for the previous cases.
27-30 show, on a smaller scale, a third possibility of the second exemplary embodiment applied to a large clock with a spring, weight or electric drive.
EMI6.2
Disks b4 and b5 are formed. The disc b4 arranged directly below the movable dial a has on its outer circumference a right-angled cutout b6 instead of the number of hours 12 in an outer one. Ring of hours 13 to 23. An inner ring with the numbers 0 to 11 is on the

ring, # 1 "diametrically opposite # 13", etc. The disc b5 is slightly larger than b4 and has a single row of numbers, 1 to 12, which is arranged radially so that the numbers can be seen in the section of disc b1 .
The disk b5, with which the gear wheel b3 is firmly connected, therefore sits loosely on the minute tube J and is operated by a drive wheel d, as already described above.

small pins e to which the outer end of a spiral spring f2 is attached. while its other end sits on a sleeve d10 firmly connected to the disc. In addition, the crown wheel b1 is still in constant engagement with an organ of the cylinder escapement g, which, together with the wheel g4 forming a piece with it, sits loosely on the shoulder screw g3, which is also fastened in the plate 1.
The wheel g4 is in engagement with an intermediate wheel it, which sits loosely on the shoulder screw l2 and engages in the minute tube 5, which rotates with little friction on the drive axis of the large floor wheel.
The transmission ratio of the drives is chosen so that if the minute tube 5 makes a full turn in one hour, the cylinder escapement performs half a turn in the same direction of rotation in the same time. The inhibiting member g has incisions g1 and g2 which are opposite to one another in the direction of the diameter and lie in different planes with respect to the teeth y and z.
: The winding shaft is designated by 10, through which the clock spring causing the drive is tensioned and the setting of the hands by means of the hand wheels 6 and 61 through which the minute wheel can be rotated.
The second drive is designated by 9, which can be maintained by crown wheel b without impairing the rotary movement.
The mode of operation of this embodiment is as follows:
While the crown wheel is locked by the escapement member g, the full part of the cylinder being between two successive teeth of the crown wheel, i.e. H. During 59 minutes and 59 seconds, the spring f2 is tensioned by the wheel e ″, which is carried along by the minute tube 5.
But as soon as one of the notches gt, g2 comes to stand opposite the corresponding toothing y or z of the crown wheel, which is under the effect of the force stored in the spring j2 by means of the pinned disk d, a tooth y or z is released, whereby the crown wheel can make one # turn.
The force stored in the spring jss, which must be large enough. to rotate the crown wheel b1 is then completely consumed by this sudden rotation.
During the next hour, the spring f2 is tensioned again, but the crown wheel

The movable dial b1 is also provided with two toothings / and z of twelve teeth each lying in different planes. Two windows a1 and a '(not shown in the figures) arranged one above the other are recessed in this dial. The movable dial is formed by a crown wheel bl, which rotates on rollers c mounted in the dust ring 3, and is formed by a concentric disk "". The: crown wheel b1 bears the numbers of hours 1 to 24 arranged in a circle, while the disk lJ2 also has the numbers 1 to 12 arranged in a circle.
The crown wheel bl has 24 pointed arch-shaped teeth on its inner circumference and is permanently in engagement with the drive wheel d, which has six teeth. This latter sits loosely on a shoulder screw dl embedded in the plate 1. On the front of the plate 1, the wheel i4 is loosely seated on the minute tube above the hour wheel 8. The wheel i4 has two toothed teeth superimposed and i6 has six teeth each. These teeth, arranged in alternating order, mesh with the drive wheel d. The wheel i4 is always somewhat excepted to accommodate the round spring /, one of its bent ends 15 of which is connected to the wheel i4 and its other 16 to the hour wheel 8.
The teeth i5 and i6 are in engagement with the escapement cylinder g, which is always operated in the same direction of rotation either by the minute tube 5 or a minute ratchet wheel 6 so that it makes twelve full revolutions in 24 hours.
This escapement cylinder g rotates between the plate 1 and a bridge 12 and has two corresponding, diametrically offset cutouts gl and g2 with respect to the toothings i5 and t. As a result of these cutouts, a tooth i6 is alternately exposed after every hour, with wheel i4 then being exposed to the action of the spring /, which was slightly tensioned by hour wheel 8 for 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Since the disc b2 forms a single piece with the escape wheel, it suddenly makes 1/12 of a turn, while at the same time, as a result of the drive d, the crown wheel bl makes a 1/24 of a turn.
In this way, two new time indications appear in windows a1 and a2 at the same time, showing the old and the new time division.
In the fourth embodiment, which is expressed in FIGS. 45-47, the dial a of a clock according to the known Rosskopf system, which has been equipped with the arrangement according to the present invention, has only one window a1 and the usual hour , Minute and second division; the hour hand is retained. The movable dial b consists only of the crown wheel bl, which carries the number of hours from 0 to 23. The diameter of the escape wheel i4 is smaller so as not to hinder the second drive g. The spring / ″ which actuates this escape wheel i4 has the shape of a spiral whose ends 15 and 16 each form an eyelet in which two pins engage, one of which is carried by the escape wheel and the other by the hour wheel 8.
48 shows a modification of the embodiment of the spring / *, in which the eyelet 15 is replaced by a bend back and the spring is otherwise in the form of a ring.
Instead of the 24 teeth, the crown wheel could also have 24 pins which are directed vertically against the surface of the plate 1, and come into engagement, like the teeth, either with the drive wheel d or with the groove cylinder g.
Figures 49-68 illustrate further embodiments using an anchor escapement.
In the first of these embodiments with anchor escapement (Fig. 49-55) the fixed dial a of the clock equipped with the subject matter of the present invention only bears the minute division increasing from 5 to 5. At the point where the number 60 should be, the dial has a

The hour hand has disappeared.
The movable dial b consists of a crown wheel bl, which rotates on three rollers c, which are carried in a dust ring 3, also of a shoulder screw c and a concentric disk dz The crown wheel carries the hour markers from 1 to 24 in a circular arrangement the disk b2, also in a circular arrangement, has the numbers 12 to 1.
The inside of the crown wheel b124 has ogival teeth which are in constant engagement with the similarly shaped teeth of a drive wheel d, which is loosely attached to the shoulder screw dl which is fastened in the plate 1.
The drive wheel d engages in a wheel b3 which is firmly connected to the disk b2. The wheel b3 sits loosely on the minute tube 5 above the hour wheel 8. It is attached to the escape wheel i4, which also sits loosely on the minute wheel 5. This escapement wheel i4 has six teeth whose shape can be different and is subject to the action of a spiral spring y, one end 15 of which is bent at right angles to the wheel i4 and the other end 16 of which is connected to the hour wheel 8.
On the other hand, the teeth of this escapement wheel i4 come into engagement with an armature g5, which swings back and forth on a shoulder screw gf fastened in the plate 1.
The distance between the two arms of this armature corresponds to the space between l1 / l'J teeth of wheel i4.

The length of the arms of the armature is calculated so that, under the opposing forces of the spring g7 and the eccentric g9. to which the armature is alternately exposed, one of its arms engages with a tooth of the wheel 4. during half a revolution of the eccentric, d. H. So in an hour the end of the active arm slides first on the floor between the locked teeth and then on the tooth that is soon to be released back up to its upper edge. At the dead center of the armature's oscillation, the next tooth is released and the wheel il rotates clockwise until the tooth following the one that was released last rests on the other armature arm.
This tooth is then locked by this anchor arm, which under the action of the spring rotates on it for 30 minutes in one direction and in the opposite direction for the next 30 minutes, i.e. in the following hour, etc.
With 10 the winding shaft of the watch is designated.
In the alarm clocks and wall clocks that do not have a second hand, a single disk b7 could be used instead of the crown wheel bl and disk b2, which make up the movable dial b

endeavors to turn the lever clockwise. The end of the part glu of the armature is subject to the action of the spring g7, as in the embodiment described above.
The oscillations of the armature are caused by means of a pawl'10, which is firmly connected to the armature, 1. by the worm attached to the minute wheel 5.
The worm 11 'gradually removes the pawl from the axis of the minute wheel over a period of 59 minutes 59 seconds, thereby causing the armature to swing out despite the oppositely acting spring g7, which tries to keep the free end of the pawl g20 towards the worm w support.
In the 60th minute the outer, non-closed end of the worm line comes to rest in front of the pawl, the bent part of which hits the radial side surface and falls under the action of the spring g7 into the inner end of the worm line.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 57, the exiting, movable arm g14 has just left the tooth of wheel i4, which it had locked during the entire time the pawl was climbing onto the worm. During this process the escape wheel was immobile because the engaging, fixed arm g13 was already in engagement with the third, following tooth.
Under the action of the spring g18, the arm g13 is then turned slightly to the right so that its effective surface is again set radially to the escape wheel when the pawl g20, which falls when the worm line starts, causes the armature g5 to swing out. This ensures that this arm easily engages the tooth that follows the one that it released immediately after a tooth was released from gear i14.
The radial surface of the screw 11 'and the. The axis of the minute hand, which also sits on the minute tube, is shifted so that a tooth i4 is released when the pointer comes to stand opposite the number HO on the fixed dial.
The escape wheel i4 could also have 24 teeth. In this case, the hour wheel would have to be operated with a reduction in speed, which is in the ratio of 12:24 to one revolution of the minute tube.
If the clock does not have a second drive, a disc b8 can be attached to such an escapement wheel, which completely takes the place of a movable dial and bears the hours 23 to 0 in a circular arrangement and the numbers 1 to 12 in a concentric semicircle (Fig. 60 ).
In the embodiment with an armature according to FIG. 59, the armature g5, which moves on the shoulder screw g6, is built into a recess which is recessed in the plate of the watch and is subject to the action of a very weak guide spring g7.
The movable lever g14 rotates around the shoulder screw g12, which is at the end of the exiting

to limit its appearance vibrations in both directions by means of the V-shaped spring g23. Furthermore, as described earlier, the movable lever gel4 is subject to the action of a guide spring g18.
The swinging of the anchor is effected in the same way as was shown for the previous embodiment. But instead of the armature releasing the teeth of the escapement wheel one by one, according to this embodiment it is the crown wheel b1 which causes a tooth to be released after every hour.
67 shows a modification of the anchor used in this embodiment, in which only a single stop g21 is provided, which interacts with the shoulder In of the end of the anchor arm. The opening angle that is left free between this approach and the arm leaving the armature is approximately 30.
Fig. 61 shows the movable dial of this embodiment seen from below. The internally toothed crown wheel does not have any direct hour markings.
Rather, these are attached to a ring b8 which is easily exchangeable. Furthermore, according to this embodiment, the crown wheel b1 is provided with a circular groove b9 in order to prevent the ring b8 from touching the heads of the screws f which carry the rollers c or from touching them (FIG. 62).
63 shows the escape wheel i4 of this embodiment from below.
64 is a special view of one of the rollers c, which are arranged to be adjustable in that their axis cl is embedded in a lever es which can rotate in e6 and is under the action of a spring c7 held in c, in such a way that that this adjustable roller constantly exerts a slight pressure on the crown wheel b1, so that the play between the crown wheel and its driver drive and between the crown wheel and the non-adjustable rollers is canceled.
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
In addition, the adjustable rollers make it easier to remove the crown wheel b1, since it is not necessary to remove one of the fixed rollers e, as is the case with the others. Executions must happen so that the crown wheel b1 held in the rollers e2 can be removed.
65 and 66 show two special designs of the armature according to FIG. 58, which however do not require any changes in its mode of operation.
Fig. 68 illustrates yet another embodiment of the anchor which is intended. to avoid the use of a large radius auger. rm to achieve this is the

This anchor could also have two pawls at its free end. in order to simultaneously take the crown gear bl and the disk b2 along, wekche form the movable dial.
It would also be possible to replace the armature with a bolt that has two diametrically offset pins, one of which is movable in a manner similar to the lever g14. This bolt would be moved in a straight line by means of a screw or any other organ and would perform the same services. like an anchor.
The timepiece according to the present invention could instead of being as described above with reference

Show seasons, moon changes, etc., since the movable blade of this timepiece can be provided with any desired character and the jerky driving organ of the movable blade can be operated by any drive. without affecting the essence of the invention which it consists in. to operate a moving drawing sheet at regular intervals, for which the driving force is taken from the engine of the timepiece without affecting the good running of this engine.
The crown wheel provided with 24 teeth can be used in the embodiments in which the hourly

This arrangement could also be chosen if the characters 1 to 12 are made visible by means of a central pane through a second window.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Timepiece by type of those. in which a movable dial, on which the time information is arranged in a circle, always looks in the same direction of rotation below an immovable sheet provided with at least one window, and in particular a clock. which facilitates the reading of the new time division from 1 to 24 hours and its fractions, characterized thereby. that the movable dial is constantly in engagement with a drive element, by means of which it receives a driving force in regular time intervals that was taken from the drive mechanism of the clock using a greatly reduced translation and this driving force is stored during the respective rest breaks of the movable dial and the duration the rest is regulated by an inhibitor.
which receives an even drive from the clock mechanism, always acting in the same direction, in such a way that each time the escapement is triggered, the movable dial is rotated jerkily by such an angle that the time that was visible in one window is replaced by the next one.
