Fig. 4 zeigt eine Hinteransicht der Maschine.

Leather sharpening and splitting machine with ring knife.
It is already known in leather sharpening and splitting machines with ring knives to divide the housing including the knife and the feed roller in such a way that the housing part carrying the feed roller and its support and adjustment device can be pivoted away from the other stationary part receiving the knife. The division is carried out approximately according to the vertical plane of the mounting flange, so that the ring knife is completely exposed and can easily be grasped on the surrounding area with both hands for the purpose of replacement.
The front housing part is hinged to the fixed housing part so that it can pivot about a vertical axis and is always ready to

Breaks in the feed result in an uneven gap in the leather.
In contrast, according to the invention, the shafts are permanently connected by a joint, making the clutch and the springs superfluous.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows the machine in elevation. partly in longitudinal section. FIGS. 2 and 3 show a view of the machine with the front part swung out by 90 in elevation and plan view. FIG. 4 shows a rear view of the machine.

the feed roller 6 acts together, the pivot pin 16 of which is received by the arm 7. which in turn is supported by the oscillating shaft 8 mounted in the housing. A rail 14 which is provided with several notches and is connected to the fixed housing by a tension spring and has a handle engages via a pin 15 on a hanging arm 23 of the oscillating shaft 8 and holds the feed roller 6 in the working position. The feed roller 6 is driven by the ball-and-socket shaft 9, which is set in rotation by the worm wheel axle 17 mounted in the housing wall. The latter is moved by the worm shaft 18, which is mounted on the outside of the housing parallel to the knife axis.
The machine is divided according to a plane extending approximately through the mounting flange and the part 10 is attached to the fixed housing part 12 by means of a joint 11 so that it can be opened laterally. According to the invention, the tendon shaft 18 is also divided and provided with a ball joint 19 at the division point. The central axis of the joints of the two housing parts and the central axis of the joint of the
