1" belasteten Hebel g an.

Regulators for compressors.
There are known regulators for compressors in which the compressed air lifts a piston against the action of a spring or a weight when the pressure in the air chamber is too high, so that the compressed air can flow into two pipes connected to the cylinder of the piston, one of which is closed a blow-off valve and the other leads to a switch of the prime mover moved by the compressed air. The known regulators of this type have the disadvantage that the piston slowly lowers as the pressure gradually decreases and therefore easily gets stuck. The piston also follows every pressure fluctuation, so that the drive machine is constantly switched on and off. According to the invention, the pressure regulator is set up in such a way that the compressor and the drive machine are switched on again at a different pressure than when switched off.
After switching off, the pressure must therefore first drop by a certain amount before it can be switched on again, and the pressure regulator can be set to various pressure differences. For this purpose, a locking device holding the lever in the highest position is attached to the lever of the pressure regulator, the variable counterpressure of which has to be overcome by the piston before it can lower.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the device is shown as an example. Three pipes c, d, e are connected to the cylinder a, which contains the piston b. Line c comes from the air tank. Line d leads to the relief valve of the compressor and line e leads to the cut-off switch for the prime mover. The piston b grips one with the weight. 1 "loaded lever g. Opposite this lever is a lever i rotatably mounted on the axis, which on the one hand carries the pawl I provided with a spring k and on the other hand the weight tray 111, which can be weighted down by adding shot or the like The lever i rests on the stop n.
The mode of operation is as follows: When the pressure in the air chamber has reached a certain level, the piston b is raised until the connection between the pipe c and the two pipes d and e is established, so that the relief valve is opened and the drive machine is switched off. The pawl 1 has then reached under the end of the lever g, so that the latter is supported and therefore the piston b does not immediately move when the pressure is released

thus always a certain pressure difference, during which the device remains at rest; the size of this difference is determined by the load on the weight tray 111.
