Spherical, astigmatic and chromatically corrected lens system.
The present invention relates to a spherically, astigmatically and chromatically corrected lens system, in particular for photographic lenses, and aims to design the same such that, using only two cemented lenses, it is possible to achieve a high light intensity and a large angle of view. For this purpose, according to the invention, the spherical cemented surface of the system is designed, if glasses with suitable refraction exponents are selected for the lenses, so that they mainly achieve anastigmatic image flattening, while the so-called spherical errors are mainly due to a suitably selected deviation an outer surface of the lens system takes place of the spherical shape.
In contrast to the spherical, chromatically and astigmatically corrected lens systems customary up to now, the correction of the mentioned errors is achieved in the new lens system by only one preferably converging, spherical cement surface in connection with a deformed outer surface, while otherwise generally for the same purpose Exclusively spherical design of the line surfaces, two inner spherical surfaces, namely one collecting and one dispersing, are used, which were designed either as cemented surfaces or as boundary surfaces of an air lens.
This is an advantage of the new system compared to the previously known two-part system with air lens insofar as the omission of the air lens reduces the thickness of the system and the centering difficulties, as well as compared to the systems with three cemented lenses in that the possibility of a larger opening is achieved , while the dispersing cement surface, which is otherwise used in the known three-lens systems to eliminate the spherical defects, has a relatively strong deflection and consequently makes it difficult to achieve a large image aperture.
According to the inventor's previous experience, the advantages of the new system are particularly evident when it is composed of a biconvex lens and a biconvex lens, the lenses being arranged in the beam path in such a way that the biconvex lens faces away from the diaphragm, and where the cement surface is designed as a collecting cement surface.
In order to comfortably achieve the most complete possible correction of the system, it is also desirable in the new system that the two outer surfaces of the system at the vertex have the same curvature and, if possible, the same size.
According to the present invention, a photographic objective consisting of a biconcave lens with spherical boundary surfaces on both sides and a biconvex lens cemented to this, the free outer surface of which is formed by an ellipsoidal surface, has the following constants:
EMI1.1

EMI2.1
EMI2.2
spherical surfaces in millimeters, starting with the surface of the biconcave lens facing the diaphragm, T3 the radius of the deformed surface at its apex, a the major half axis of the ellipse in the direction of the optical axis, à1, do the mean lens thicknesses, Hu and KG 'the refractive indices of the glasses used, aperture distance from the outer surface of the biconcave lens = 6'40 ozm.
EMI2.3
EMI2.4
FIG. 2 indicates the position of the ellipse in relation to the optical axis if '1 is formed as an ellipsoidal surface and r3 as a spherical surface.
There ? The above objective can be used in the usual way both as a single objective and as a double objective.
If the objective is to be used only as one half of a compound objective, it is not always necessary that all errors are already completely corrected in one half according to the invention. Rather, the objective can also be used together with a second objective half that deviates from it, and the remaining error residue can be completely corrected in a manner known per se by the second objective half.
