Arrangement for the transmission of messages from ships by means of streamline telegraphy.
The invention relates to wireless communication from ships by means of
Streamline Telegraphy. In particular, the invention relates to an arrangement in which one of the ship forming an electrode into the z. B. plate-shaped other electrode ending cable is towed in a position approximately parallel to the direction of travel. According to the invention, the hull is better conductive than iron
Share, e.g. B. surrounded by bare or insulated from the hull copper wires.
These parts are connected in place of the hull and cause the arrangement to work more reliably than the otherwise usual use of the hull itself for one electrode.
The dragging of the parts connected to these conductive parts
Cable in a position roughly parallel to the direction of travel also results in a very favorable course of the potential curves, which in connection with the arrangement of the parts that conduct better than iron means a very effective use of the energy by creating a favorable basis for a large range of the station becomes.
The bare or insulated copper wires surrounding the hull are connected to a transceiver located inside the ship, which on the other hand is isolated through the towed cable and connected to the electrode plate provided at the free cable end. The hull with the copper wires attached to it represents a certain part of the streamline path, namely the one electrode itself, so that a short circuit of the streamlines through the hull is avoided. The arrangement according to the invention can be used to determine the ship's location by defining two tangential or radial directions.
With the aid of the device according to the invention, the ship can also be steered through a channel by providing synchronously operating transmitting stations along the channel, with the help of which it is possible to determine the respective direction of travel from the ship by observing a volume minimum.
