Verbindungsstelle des zu putzenden Lederteiles des Stiefels oder Schuhes und dem Einsatz eine Schutzleiste angeordnet wird, wofür sich Lackleder besonders gut eignet. Diese Leiste kann eine wulstartige Ausbildung haben, so dass sie eine erhöhte Grenze bildet, welche verhindert, dass beim Auftragen des Putzmittels dieses auf den Einsatz gelangt und gleichzeitig, dass beim nachfolgenden Verreiben und Putzen mittels Lappens oder Bürste der Einsatz beschmutzt wird.
In der Zeichnung sind mehrere Ausführungsbeispiele dargestellt, von denen Fig. i in schaubildlicher Weise die Anordnung der Schutzleiste an einem Stiefel veranschaulicht, während Fig. 2 bis 7 an Einzelheiten verschiedene Ausbildungen der Schutzleiste im Querschnitt zeigen. Mit a ist der lederne Teil des Stiefels, mit b der Einsatz und mit c die Schutzleiste bezeichnet, welche die Verbindungsstelle beider überdeckt und die Übertragung des Schutzmittels von dem Lederteil auf den Einsatz verhindert. Gemäss Fig. 2 hat die Leiste gegen den Unterteil hin eine erhöhte, gerade oder schräg verlaufende Kante d, welche. das Putzmittel beim Verreiben besser auffängt. Fig. 3 zeigt dieselbe Leiste ohne schräge Kante. In Fig. 4 ist die Leiste c zwischen dem Unterteil und dem Einsatz angeordnet.
Die Fig. 5 und 6 veranschaulichen Anordnungen, bei denen die Leiste, d-eren Kante d entsprechend der Fig. 2, eckige Form hat, wulstartig ausgebildet ist,-derart, dass gemäss Fig. 5 der Unterteil selbst wulstartig um die Leiste bzw. den Einsatz herumgreift, während gemäss Fig. 6 die Leiste wulstartig ausgebildet ist und die Verbindungsstelle überdeckt.
Ausserdem kann auch noch die Leiste so angeordnet werden, dass sie über den Lederteil herüberhängt und beim Putzen hochgeklappt werden kann, wie Fig. 7 veranschaulicht.
Es ist bekannt, die Verbindung zwischen Lederteil und Einsatz durch eine oder mehrere Steppnähte herzustellen, doch haben diese lediglich den Zweck, eine Verzierung zu bilden, bilden jedoch für die Übertragung des Putzmittels auf dem Einsatz kein Hindernis.
Auch können diese Steppnähte selbst nicht so leicht vom übergetretenen Putzmittel gereinigt werden wie der hierfür gemäss der Erfindung besonders vorgesehene Schutzstreifen aus Lackleder.
Dies gilt insbesondere für die Ausführungsformen gemäss Fig. 2,3, 5, 6,7 der Erfindung, welche auch noch den weiteren Vorteil bieten, dass die durch Erhöhung des Schutzstreifens entstehende Kante eine Führung bildet beim Auftragen und Verreiben des Putzmittels und beim Blankmachen des zu putzenden Schuhteiles.
