Initiator.
It is known that tricycloacetone superoxide (CgOs has explosive properties and this substance has therefore been recommended as a shooting or disintegrating agent. Its practical use, however, was opposed to its high volatility.
Surprisingly, it has now been found that this substance is capable of exerting an initial impulse on other explosives to detonate them and is extremely well suited as an initial detonator. It has also been found that the volatilization of Tricycloacetonsuperoxids by extremely simple means, namely by soaking or covering with a top layer of varnish and. Like. Can be completely remedied.
After filling the capsule, the tricycloacetone superoxide is covered with a collodion layer, which can be diluted with ether if necessary, so that a covering layer of about 1 to r 5 MM is present. Spirit varnish can also be used instead of collodion

is worth.
Instead of the copper capsule, a parchment paper capsule can also be used, which is protected against moisture by dipping it in conventional dipping varnishes, as are customary in the spreading agent industry. In contrast to most peroxides,
EMI1.2
the heavy metal salts previously used for the same purpose a significant advance, which u. a. Expressed in the greater effectiveness, which by the conversion during the combustion in exclusively gaseous, the explosion or. the impulse effect increasing products is caused, and since the production of the cycloacetone superoxide, in particular compared to that of the fiery mercury, is much safer.
