PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : i.

Compilation for fire and explosive purposes.
The subject of the present invention is a set for explosives purposes. for example for the manufacture of explosive cartridges, grenades, HE shells. Incendiary grenades and the like. Is suitable. The combination consists of sodium peroxide and an organic substance which, when mixed with sodium peroxide, ignites or explodes under high explosive power. The arrangement is such that the sodium superoxide is firmly enclosed in the explosive or incendiary device and is demarcated from the other liquid component of the composition, be it that the sodium superoxide surrounds this or the liquid component, the sodium superoxide.
For use, the covering of the sodium superoxide is then shattered in a known manner, so that contact between the two components of the assembly is brought about, whereupon the explosion or ignition takes place.
From the point of view of practice, only sodium superoxide can be considered as the oxygen-supplying component of the composition, to which the other superoxides of the alkalis are of course equivalent. Low-boiling alcohols, such as, in particular, methyl alcohol and mixtures containing them, are primarily suitable as components which together with the sodium peroxide give the ignition effect.
For the disintegration effect, esters are mainly used, of which the methyl salicylate in particular has shown highly explosive effects. According to the inventor's attempts to date, the explosiveness of such a mixture appears to be greater than that of nitruglycerin.
PATENT CLAIMS: i. Compilation for fire and explosive purposes, consisting of an organic combustible substance and a sodium superoxide body which is suitably sealed against contact with the organic substance.
