Die aus Zellulose hergestellten Glühkörper leiden unter dem Übelstande, dass sie weniger formbeständig und im Dauerbrand viel weniger haltbar sind wie Kunstseide-oder Ramieglühkörper, weil Zellulose sehr kurzfaserig ist.
Es hat'sich nun herausgestellt, dass dieser Übelstand weitgehend dadurch behoben werden kann, dass man der kurzfaserigen Holzzellulose Faserstoffe mit langer Faser zusetzt und derartige Gemische auf Garn verarbeitet.
Eine ähnliche Wirkung auf die Haltbarkeit der Glühkörper erzielt man durch gleichzeitiges Verzwirnen, Verweben oder Verstricken von Holzzellulosegarn (Papiergarn) mit Ramiegarn, Kunstseidegarn, Baumwollgarn oder mit Mischgarn aus Holzzellulose und langen Fasern.

A similar effect on the durability of the incandescent bodies is achieved by simultaneously twisting, interweaving or knitting wood cellulose yarn (paper yarn) with ramie yarn, rayon yarn, cotton yarn or with mixed yarn made of wood cellulose and long fibers.
