Fastening pin, especially for clothes fasteners.
The invention relates to a fastening needle which is used in particular as a clothing fastener and by means of which the abutting halves of an item of clothing can be joined together in place of buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes or the like.
The new fastening needle consists in a known manner of a double hook with opposing tips, which is designed in the manner of a clasp and is characterized by the fact that the hook ends are bent down onto the bar of the needle and rest with their tips in recesses of the bar, with the insertion the needle is given a resilience in its longitudinal direction in that one hook loop is significantly longer than the other, so that it can be moved when it is inserted into the fabric.
In this way it is possible to tightly pull the garment halves together under the needle while it is being displaced in the longitudinal direction, without the needle being able to jump off the fabric during this. The needle sits firmly in the fabric and also has secured tips.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Fig. I is a partially sectioned side view, Fig. 2 is a plan view of the needle.
The needle shown has a web 6 of round, flat or otherwise desired cross-sectional shape and can be made of any desired or suitable material.
The surface of this web 6 can also have any decorative shape or be provided with any jewelry.
At the ends of the web 6 there is an inwardly directed hook 7 and a similar hook 8. The two hooks 7 and 8 used to connect the fabric have conveniently pointed ends 9 and 10 which are bent down onto the web 6 and form two loops . The hook parts 7 and 8 can be designed to be flexible or, if desired, also resilient.
The web 6 is provided with one or more recesses 11 and 12 into which the inwardly bent hook parts 7 and 8 with their tips 9 and 10 are inserted. This protects the tips of the hooks and prevents them from getting caught in the fabric or injuring it when in use. The hook parts 7 and 8 can, if desired, also be designed to be resilient.
In these embodiments, one hook or hook-shaped connecting part 7 is longer than the other 8. The purpose of this is that the longer hook 7 can first be inserted into the fabric and, due to its greater length, is prevented from sliding out when the shorter hook is in the substance is used. If the needle is seated with its two hooks in the fabric, the tension or the pull prevents it from sliding out or from loosening the connection.
This embodiment, in which the ends of the connecting hooks rest against the web, prevents the needle from sliding out or loosening automatically, even if it is used for very light or thin materials or the like.
