Milling machine for the production of gears using the hobbing process.
The invention relates to milling machines for producing gears by the hobbing process of the type protected by patent no. 81885. The purpose of the present invention is to provide an improved device for achieving the required difference in movement between the workpiece and the indexing gear.
The invention consists in attaching the driven wheel of the indexing gear on an element which is rotatable about an axis which does not coincide with the axis of rotation of the table carrying the workpiece and which has a toothing which engages in a toothing attached to the table. The two gears have little different pitch circle diameters and are therefore in mesh on a large arc.
The constructions forming the subject of the present invention have the advantage that the driven part of the dividing gear and one part of the gear form a whole to achieve the difference in movement between the workpiece and the partial wheel, while the other part of the last-mentioned gear unit with the table carrying the workpiece Whole forms. This reduces the number of places where deadlock and consequently inaccuracy can occur.
Furthermore, due to the reduction in tooth contact on two pairs of contacting one another, namely between the two parts of the indexing gear and between the toothing on the driven gear of this gear and that on the table, the number of oiled points that come into question during the operation of the machine is reduced and consequently an increased inevitability in the movement of the workpiece is achieved.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 is a partially sectioned side view, FIG. 2 is a plan view, and FIG. 3 is a front view, partially sectioned along line C-C in FIG. 2, of an embodiment of the gear milling machine according to the invention. 4 and 5 show a second embodiment in a partially sectioned view and plan view, and FIGS. 6 and 7 show a third embodiment of the machine in the same illustration.
According to the embodiment of the machine according to FIGS. 1 to 3, a drive worm wheel a in the form of a ring is forced to rotate around its own axis as a result of a bar b or the like; this annular worm wheel is provided on its inner surface with teeth c, which advantageously have a fine pitch. The table d that supports the workpiece j

The table axis A-A is arranged in relation to the ring axis B-B in such a way that a toothed ring f seated on the table d engages with the teeth c of the worm wheel ring a. The latter is used in the usual way, e.g. B. by a worm g, which engages in the toothing h on the ring a,

of the worm ring a, since the pitch circle diameter of the toothing c is larger than that of the toothing f on the workbench.
The diameter of the pitch circles of the table teeth f and the ring teeth c are chosen so that the table can move relative to one another. (1. i.e. a leading movement with respect to

the drive worm wheel experiences, as a result of which the desired change in the fault position is achieved, which mainly results from those faults that arise as a result of the inaccuracies of the worm and the worm ring toothing. Slight inaccuracies in the ring toothing c and the table toothing f remain ineffective due to the large meshing arc of these toothings. It is advantageous to mount the worm g as close as possible to the point of engagement of the ring toothing c with the table toothing f, thereby avoiding errors due to the springiness of the ring a.

Invention.
In this embodiment, the toothing f, which is carried by the table d, is designed as internal toothing, while in the first embodiment the same was designed as external toothing. In this construction, the ring-shaped part a is forced to move around its axis B-B as a result of a bar b and clamping jaws k. As in the past, the ring carries the worm gear teeth h, which mesh with the worm g. The toothing c is in this case designed as an external toothing. Its pitch circle is slightly smaller in diameter than that of the toothing f.
According to the embodiment according to FIGS. 6 and 7, the annular part a is inclined; it must rotate about its axis B-B as a result of the bar b and the clamping jaws k. As before, the ring a has worm gear teeth li which mesh with the worm g. The teeth c are attached to the upper surface of the ring a and mesh with a bevel teeth f carried by the table d. The pitch circle of the toothing c is little different from the pitch circle of the toothing f; the pitch circle of c is advantageously larger than that of pitch circle. f.
For all embodiments it must be noted that the teeth t and c, which form the connection between the annular part and the work table, are in engagement on a relatively large arc and therefore the movement transferred from the teeth c to the teeth f is not in the form of a or two teeth, but depends on the mean shape of a number of teeth. It should also be noted that although the element a has always been referred to as a ring-shaped part in the preceding, it can in some cases be replaced by a more or less solid wheel.
However, if the element is designed as a ring, it is desirable in all cases that the point of engagement of the teeth t and c is arranged as close as possible to the point of engagement of the drive gear g and A, thereby avoiding errors due to the suspension of the ring.
From the described construction of the gear milling machine it can be seen that as a result

speed taking place rotary movement of the table, which is transmitted from the annular part to the table, a corresponding displacement of the position of the table d with respect to the driven part h of the drive gear is achieved with successive revolutions of the work table.
