In der Zeichnung ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes schematisch dargestellt. Ein Magnetkern 1 wird vom Verbrauchsstrom mittels der Spule 2 erregt. Der Kraftfluss durchsetzt mehrere sekundäre Kurzschlusswindungen. 3, 4 und 5. Die Kurzschluss- windung 3 (Fig. i und 2) ist beispielsweise als Thermometerrohr 7 ausgebildet, in dem die Flüssigkeit, beispielsweise Quecksilber, beim Erreichen der Grenztemperatur bis zur Berührung mit den Kontaktspitzen 6 eines Relaisstromkreises emporsteigt ;

PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : i.

Timing element for thermal overcurrent time relays.
The thermal inertia of the electrically heated time elements of overcurrent time relays is given by their dimensions and the material and is inherently unchangeable; the switching times of these relays are always the same.
For those heating elements in which the heating current is transmitted through an alternating field, in which the heating element is the secondary winding of a current transformer, the invention provides a means of changing the thermal inertia of the effective time element and thus the switching times. This means consists of the following device: In addition to the effective time element, which consists, for example, of a mercury or any other pipe designed as a short-circuit ring that contains mercury or any other liquid to be expanded or evaporated, one or more short-circuit windings are attached, the heating of which in itself has no effect. the relay is working.
These short-circuit rings or windings can be attached by any device
EMI1.1
The thermal inertia of these additional rings is selected to be different from that of the heating element, but the resistance and surface area thereof are dimensioned so that the final temperature at the limit current for heating elements and additional rings is the same. If the heating element and one or more of the additional rings touch one another, the thermal inertia of the combined body changes, while the limit current remains unchanged.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing. A magnetic core 1 is excited by the consumption current by means of the coil 2. The power flow passes through several secondary short-circuit windings. 3, 4 and 5. The short-circuit winding 3 (FIGS. 1 and 2) is designed, for example, as a thermometer tube 7 in which the liquid, for example mercury, rises when the limit temperature is reached until it touches the contact tips 6 of a relay circuit;
the short-circuit rings 4 and 5 are slidable and can be approached to the tube 3 and with it up to

can be different, their resistance and their surface are chosen that way. that the rings reach the same final temperature at limit current, but each in a different time.
If one or the other or both rings are brought into contact with the thermometer ring 3, the thermal inertia of the short-circuit body combined with the tube and thus also the switching time are changed without changing the limit current strength of the relay.
PATENT CLAIMS: i. Time element for thermally acting overcurrent time relays, in which the heating current is transmitted by an alternating magnetic field to the heating element designed as a short-circuit winding, characterized in that further short-circuit windings can be brought into contact with the heating element, for the purpose of the thermal inertia of the effective heating element and thus to change the switching times.
