Process for obtaining technically valuable emulsion and foaming agents.
The present invention relates to a process for obtaining technically valuable emulsion and foaming agents from sea and sea rods and algae or artificial and natural mixtures of these by treatment with dilute acids at normal pressure or in an autoclave and subsequent neutralization of the reaction mixture with alkalis.
The slimy substances obtained from seaweed and algae and the same river, lake or seaweed have already been used in the form of aqueous and alkaline decoctions as emulsion carriers for detergents, finishes and liqueurs, but all these products suffered from the disadvantage that they were due to their gel state and gelatinous character only in the highly diluted state thinly liquid resp. could be produced in liquid form at all and thus always had high surface tension and low wetting power. When impregnating web
EMI1.1
They lacked the above-mentioned depth effect with low wetting force and their foaming power was very low.
The same drawbacks in terms of depth effect and wetting were shown by the finishes and coatings of the old working methods.
The emulsifiers and foaming agents produced by the present process

high wetting power with unusually high emulsion and foaming power and high depth effect, which is why they are particularly good for textile manufacture and for the manufacture of water-soluble drilling oils as well as for detergent and fulling agent production and for use in processing the spun fibers into rovings and fabrics, e.g. . alkaline neutralized, if necessary filtered or used directly as a crude product.
Are z. B. i part of the product obtained in this way is intensively mixed with 3 parts of spindle oil, resulting in durable, creamy emulsions that can be used as water-soluble drilling oils or textile oils. It is also suitable for walking without oil.
The product obtained in this way is also largely diluted in and of itself and also with water. a remarkably high foaming power, namely the foam remains for a long time, is therefore particularly suitable for washing and cleaning purposes, in particular for fulling and washing purposes in the textile industry for webs and fabrics treated with mineral oil-containing oils. The product can also be treated with other foaming agents (soap, etc.) together and one after the other.
