Gemäss der Erfindung werden in an sich bekannter Weise ausser den für die Führung des Gesamtstromes bemessenen Hauptkontakten des Schalters Xebenkontakte verwendet. Die Erfindung besteht nun darin, dass nur diese Xebenkontakte'm Innern von Löschkammern angeordnet sind. Die Öffnung der Hauptkontakte erfolgt im freien Ölraum. Die Unterbrechung des Stromes dagegen erfolgt an den parallel zu den Hauptkontakten angeordneten Nebenkontakten, die sich in bekannter Weise beim Ausschalten erst nach den IIauptkontakten öffnen.
Die Löschkammern erhalten dadurch, dass sie nur Nehenkontakte enthalten, sehr kleine Abmessungen ; sie sind daher bequem an die Tr. gkonstruktion für die Hauptkontakte anzuhauen.
Die Zeichnung zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel. Es bezeichnet 1 den Ölkasten, 2 dessen Deckel, 3 die Druchführungsisolatoren, 4 die Träger der Hauptkontakte, J die Hauptkontakte, 6 die die beweglichen Kontakte tragende Traverse. 7 den festen Nehenkontakt, 8 den beweglichen Nehenkontakt. 9 die die beiden letzteren umschliessende Löschkammer.
