Kathodenstrahlenröhre mit Glühkathode für hohe Strombelastung der Oberfläche.
Bei Kathodenstrahlenröhren, die auf der Wirkung einer Glühkathode beruhen, zeigt es sich, dass eine besonders rasche Zerstörung der Glühkathode in der Nähe des negativen Poles eintritt. Es hat sich nun gezeigt, dass diese Gefährdung des nach dem negativen Pol der lleizstromquelle zu gelegenen Teiles der Glühkathode dadurch vermieden werden kann, dass man entweder den Widerstand der Glühkathode pro Längeneinheit von dem negativen Pol nach dem positiven Pol hin allmählich grösser werden lässt oder dass man statt dessen oder gleichzeitig in Verbindung damit die Oberfläche der Glühkathode pro Längeneinheit nach dem positiven Pol der Heizstromquelle hin verkleinert.
Man erzielt dadurch gleichzeitig die Wirkung, dass die Glühkathode in allen Teilen gleichmässig Elektronen abgibt.
Besonders für solche Kathodenstrahlenröhren kommt diese Anordnung in Betracht, bei denen mit einer sehr hohen Strombelastung für die Obernacheneinheit gerechnet werden muss, z. B. für Gleichrichter, die ausser der glühelektriscben Strömung noch wesentlich Glimmstrom benutzen.

In the case of cathode ray tubes which are based on the action of a hot cathode, it has been shown that the hot cathode is destroyed particularly quickly in the vicinity of the negative pole. It has now been shown that this endangerment of the part of the hot cathode which is located after the negative pole of the electrical current source can be avoided by either increasing the resistance of the hot cathode per unit length from the negative pole to the positive pole, or that instead or at the same time in connection with this, the surface of the hot cathode per unit length is reduced towards the positive pole of the heating current source.
This also has the effect that the hot cathode emits electrons evenly in all parts.
This arrangement is particularly suitable for such cathode ray tubes in which a very high current load must be expected for the upper unit, e.g. B. for rectifiers, which, in addition to glowing electrical current, still use glowing current.
