 EMI2.1

The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows the device in vertical section and FIG. 2 shows the same in plan.

After both the outer container a and the funnel b inside it are filled with water, the solid waste water at the bottom of the funnel is slowly fed in until the solids to be separated have filled the funnel to the top .

Now the speed of the inlet water can be increased, for which the volume de. s funnel b and container a are decisive.
 EMI2.2
The partition walls d arranged in the funnel are deprived of their vital strength and are forced to climb vertically upwards from the bottom of the funnel through the floating filter e formed therein. The solids are retained by this filter at the bottom; as a result, the height of the filter increases. so that it breaks off over the upper edge of the funnel b and the clumped solid matter sinks to the bottom in larger flakes and balls in the calm water of the container a.

The latter process is made possible by the fact that there is no water change in the outer container from the upper hands of the funnel to the bottom and, as a result, there is complete creaking. The purified wastewater freed of solids in this way passes over the filter surface in a slowly rising flow into the water of the outer container, from where it is discharged at the upper edge of the same through the pipe f. becomes.

In order to be able to easily return the substance masses that have broken off over the edge of the funnel b and quietly fell to the ground back into operation, the lower part of the container is tapered conically downwards. The risk of the deposited substances remaining on the inclined walls of this cone is countered by the fact that a slowly rotating scraper device y pushes the substances towards the center, from where they are sucked off by a pump and returned to operation.
 EMI2.3

 EMI2.4
 is throttled.

The undisturbed effect of the floating filter is prevented in most wastewater by the fact that a lot of air or gases are fed in with it. This air rises m bubbles in the funnel and therefore tears the floating filter. The consequence of this is that now untreated wastewater passes into the outer container and drains. This inconvenience is countered by the fact that the one in inlet pipe A is switched on
 EMI2.5
 Flap 0 lowered.

When using the device for treating pulp waste water, in which case large amounts of sand and monosulfite continuously settle on the bottom of the cylindrical attachment n, a special line p is provided for draining these solid substances.
