   Wenn man dem Ofen dagegen nach der in Fig. 2 dargestellten   Ausführungsform   um die Elektrode herum einen verengten Querschnitt gibt,   so'wird   der Luftwirbel zusammengedrückt und die Luftverdünnungszone nimmt die durch die   Schraffierung kenntlich gemachte   Form an, Die Fusspunkte der Bögen werden also entsprechend dichter zusammengeschoben. Wegen der gesteigerten Luftgeschwindigkeit längs der Elektrode können die Bögen an den Seitenflächen der Elektrode oder des Kühlers keinen Halt finden.
