Device for roasting and sintering ores.
The invention relates to special forms of construction of the devices protected in the parent patent no. 37389 and additional patent no. 46325. In an embodiment of the devices protected in the cited patents which has been put into practice, the bottom of the ore carrier, designed as a grate, represents a cohesive surface from which the agglomerate is removed in such a way that the surface is moved against a plow arranged close above it. This plow-like taker has proven itself in most cases; however, if the material to be sintered has a certain quality, its effect is somewhat unreliable. The present invention is intended to make the use of the plow superfluous.

Means are provided for regulating the height of the ore layer delivered to the grate and for leveling this layer. The feeder can of course also be trained in such a way that he dominates the entire area of an ore container department and that the movement of the ore container departments and their filling with goods takes place periodically. q is the igniter tube for setting the ore mass on fire. The method of operation of the device is, for example, such that the combustion and sintering take place and are completed within the ore mass while it is moving through about three fourths of its total path. During this movement of an ore carrier division by three quarters of its orbit, its wind box r is kept in connection with the fan. Flaps s in the radial wind tubes i regulate the passage of the wind through said tubes and are in turn automatically operated by means of devices (see e.g.
Fig. 3), which do not need to be described. in such a way that immediately after the ore mass has been ignited, the connection between the wind chambers and the fan is established and that the connection is shut off immediately before the ore container is emptied, as shown in FIG. 3. *) Entes additional patent No. 46325, second additional patent No. 64477.
