Turnbuckle lock.
The subject of the invention aims to secure turnbuckles of all kinds, against loosening and turning back the thread and consists in placing a two-part specially designed tube over the spindle and the two turnbuckle nuts, which is held together by pulled or screwed rings.
Fig. 1 shows a turnbuckle in longitudinal section in the version required by the innovation with overlaid two-part tube and raised rings, in Fig. 1 a the turnbuckle is shown in view. The individual components of this turnbuckle are identified by letters, namely the spindle with a, the two nut pieces with the end eyes with b1 and b2, the two-part clamping tube with f and the slip-on rings with d1 and d2.
The drawing shows the turnbuckle nuts made from tubes, the ends of which a) s eyelets are formed.
This turnbuckle is secured in the following way. The spindle a is, as usual, screwed into the two pipe nuts and depending on the required tension, then the two-part pipe is placed on the nuts and held together with the rings. For this purpose, the nuts each have an external thread or simple grooves cut in such a way that by attaching the two-part tube, the

and as a result of the grooves or the various gradients of the nested geodise securing against adjustment of the turnbuckle.
The two-part pipe c is advantageously made of sheet metal with grooves pressed into it to save weight. that they absolutely prevent the rings from falling off by partially bending up cut flaps e, in a similar way as hexagonal nuts are secured against twisting by bending their cut washers.
Due to the two-part tube, the turnbuckle is against any accidental loosening. The solution is also secured against any deliberate introduction by unauthorized persons and the inner parts of the turnbuckle are locked against the elements and moisture.
In addition, such a turnbuckle is capable of absorbing tensile loads even if the spindle f: is broken.
These properties make the subject matter of the invention particularly suitable for seaplanes.
