Case, regardless of how the air exchange flap h is set, a flame always sweeping through the furnace in the same direction and a second flame which heats up the cooled regenerator again.
The embodiment of the half-gas furnace according to the present invention illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4 differs from the furnace explained above only in that the two regenerators d and e are directly connected to one another by a special channel. While according to FIGS. 1 and 2 the combustion air necessary for heating one regenerator had to pass through the furnace c, in FIGS can overflow directly from one regenerator into the other.
This arrangement will be made if it should turn out that the flame used to heat the regenerators is too reducing, i.e. has too high a gas content and does not burn up clearly.
This connection between the two regenerators can be implemented in the most varied of ways; z. B. a bulge can be arranged in the vault above the refrigerator

the imaginary way connects.
However, this connection is only an aid, which serves to bring the two flame parts to a clear combustion, especially to prevent z. B. partially oxidize a flame, the other is reducing. This success can often only be achieved without this aid by regulating the draft conditions in the oven or the like, so that, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, this aid can then be dispensed with.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 3 and 4, the connecting channel l can be regulated in cross section, in the simplest manner by inserting refractory bricks through the blind doors m.
The arrangement of the regenerators to the side of the furnace is only illustrated here as an exemplary embodiment. The location of the regenerators is relevant to the invention and can be adapted to local conditions.
