 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

In the production of a part form for three- or multi-color high-speed press gravure printing, the same procedure has hitherto been used as in the production of a form for single-color printing, i. H. the color-split halftone slide was copied onto the pigment paper, before or after this copying a cross-raster line with black fields and intersecting white lines was copied into the copy and this halftone halftone copy was transferred to the plate or roller.

After the transfer has been etched through, the image on the metal appears everywhere interspersed with the same cross-line, which compares with the surface of the plate or roller, between which the tone levels are formed merely by the varying degrees of deepening of the metal. If the eye looks at the surface of a plate or roller obtained in this way, it is extremely difficult to determine the boundaries between the individual tones, since it is almost impossible to deduce tone differences from the vanishingly small differences in depth. It seems understandable that under these circumstances, with partial forms for the three-color or multi-color print, covering certain tones for the purpose of efiect etching of the uncovered steps is almost impossible.

According to the invention, the above-mentioned difficulty is now to be eliminated and the covering for the indispensable etching of the partial form for plate or roller three- or multi-color high-speed rotogravure printing is to be made easily possible so that within the individual tones the decomposition recognizable on the surface, or in other words, the rasterization of the tones is changed. With such a change in the division (locking), the elements can differ from one another in terms of number, type, size, width and arrangement. What rasterization

that the rasterization clings to the tone brightness on the one hand and the mixed color type on the other.

There are numerous possibilities for obtaining such variable locking. A very simple and exact way is the following; A sufficiently large one appears on the partial slide
 EMI1.3
it is easy to cover or leave the right parts free, as the individual tones stand out sharply from one another due to the change in the notch.
