Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Papierstoffhoiiänder m! t level trough and high floor slope,
The Dutchman used in paper manufacture was originally set up in such a way that the elongated shaft of the Dutchman roller lay over the upper edge of the side channel. When the floor slope of the Dutchman was increased later, the shaft of the Dutchman grinding roller was led through the side channel, which had to be provided with stuffing boxes for this purpose. This device has the disadvantage that the substance can be contaminated by oil that penetrates through the stuffing boxes; In addition, the speed of circulation of the material is also inhibited by the wave leading through the side channel.
In order to avoid this exercise, according to the invention the shaft of the grinding roller is arranged so that it is passed under the bottom of the side channel.
Such a Hollander is shown in Fig. 1 in vertical longitudinal section, in Fig. 2 in vertical cross section and in Fig. 3 in top view.
The knife roller a is arranged so deep in the Hollander that the elongated shaft b of the grinding roller a lies under the bottom c of the side channel. In this way, a completely free, open, easy-to-clean trough with a very high floor slope is obtained without the need for special seals for mounting the grinding roller.
