designated and attached to the reflector 22. The same opens outside the bell jar. The bell jar itself is attached and sealed to the reflector by means of a two-part metal ring 23, 24 connected to it in a hinge-like manner, so that any passage of air past the ring and the bell rim into the interior of the bell is prevented.
The bell is perforated at the lower end and carries a downwardly projecting insert 28 which protects the air inlet openings 20 against tension. About the bottom of the

shown.
On the top of the reflector 22 is a protective jacket 33 which is provided with openings 34 for the entry of fresh air. The reflector is also provided with air inlet openings 35 on its outer edge. A pilot flame vaporizer is designated by 36, which is firmly connected to the heating shell 17 and is provided with fuel clay inlet openings 37. The ignition flame tube bears the designation 38. The filler tube for the heating bowl is designated 39.
The operation and handling of the lamp is as follows.
EMI2.2
The fuel in the heater shell 17 ignites, as a result of the passage of air through the tubular ring 18 a ring of preheating flames is created, under the effect of which the fuel in the evaporator and the lower end of the ascending branch of the superheater coil 6 begins to evaporate. The resulting vapor pushes the liquid fuel located in the ascending branch of the superheater tube 6 out of the tube, so that it is thrown over into the liquid separator 11.
It initially remains here and, due to its relatively low temperature, causes condensation of the vapors initially passing through the superheater tube 6, so that the feeding of the tube sections 12, 13 and the nozzle 14 is initially delayed. In the meantime, due to the effect of the intensely acting stinging fan ring of the heating flame, further heating of all gas-carrying parts of the line and of the liquid separator 11 and especially of the pipe bend 12, so that finally a state is reached in which the steam emerging from the container 11 is in the line sections 12 , 13 is dried and overheated in front of the nozzle 14.
The steam pulls preheated fresh air with it from the interior of the jacket 33, which air has entered through the openings 34, 35. The steam-air mixture reaches the mixing tube 21 'and from this to the burner. 31. Any parts still condensing are in the drip tray 29 receptacle.

able to light a flame.
As a result of the special design of the liquid separator and its arrangement at the foot of the forge, the exhaust gases from the utility heat up the surface of the inner wall and the bottom of the liquid separator in such a way that only strongly overheated and dried steam reach the nozzle due to the energetic suction effect caused by the long draft can. It is known that solid, coarse residues are excreted from petroleum as a result of such severe overheating. In order to prevent these residues from hindering the gas exit from the nozzle, the gas outlet is arranged as high as possible in the liquid separator.
This causes the annoying residues to be deposited in the liquid separator: they are removed through a cleaning opening in the pipe loop.
