Reflector and image carrier plate and their manufacturing process
The invention relates to a reflector and an image carrier plate and a method for producing such a refector plate.
The object of the present invention is to provide a reflector plate which offers a high reflection effect and brilliance and which can be used as a high-quality projection surface, for example for image, light and laser projections or in architecture.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an image carrier plate which displays image information, which may include text, graphics, photographs, etc., with high brilliance and brightness and with the achievement of a three-dimensional effect.
Another object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a reflector plate according to the invention.
The object of the invention, as stated in the second paragraph, is achieved by a reflector plate which comprises a carrier plate made of transparent material, preferably of inorganic glass, such as mirror glass, or of synthetic glass, such as polymethyl methacrylate (PPMA) or polycarbonate, the carrier plate on its The back is provided with a reflective layer and the front is roughened or matted. The reflective layer on the back of the reflector plate ensures that a high percentage of the incident light from the front is reflected back, while the roughened front diffuses the light somewhat and thus results in a more uniform light distribution and high brilliance.
This brilliance can be further enhanced if a coating made of a thin plastic film is applied to the roughened front. The plastic thin film fills out the irregularities in the surface of the carrier plate caused by the roughening and thus smoothes the surface. It can be expedient if the carrier plate and the plastic thin film have different reflection coefficients. The coating preferably comprises

Plastic thin film reactive mono-, oligo- or polymers that are compatible with the material of the
Carrier plate form a chemical bond or crosslinking.
Such plastic
Coatings for glasses are known per se, but have so far been used exclusively as a protective layer for glasses in order to protect them against corrosion due to environmental influences and against contamination.
The object of the invention, as stated in the third paragraph of the first page, is achieved by an image carrier plate which comprises a reflector plate according to the invention, as defined above, image information being applied, preferably printed, to the roughened front side of the carrier plate or the coating made of plastic thin film , is. The image information can include text, graphics, photographs, etc. Any printing process that the
Carrier plate or the plastic thin film is not damaged, e.g. B. offset printing.
An alternative embodiment of the image carrier plate according to the invention provides that it looks over the roughened front side of the carrier plate or the coating
Plastic thin film is a transparent plate or film with image information is arranged. Transparent films with ink jet or are particularly suitable
Laser printers or can be printed using the offset method. After printing, the plate or film is placed on the reflector plate and attached to it by any suitable method, such as clamping or gluing.
To protect the image information on the image carrier plate, it can further be provided that an attachment plate made of transparent, inorganic or synthetic glass is arranged above the image information.
The method according to the invention for producing a reflector plate comprises providing a carrier plate made of transparent material, preferably made of inorganic glass or synthetic glass, such as polymethyl methacrylate (PPMA) or polycarbonate (PC); the application of a reflective layer on the back of the carrier plate; and roughening the front of the carrier plate, preferably by sandblasting. Instead of providing the carrier plate with subsequent application of a reflection layer, a mirror plate can also be provided. When sandblasting a suitable shot, e.g. B. quartz, corundum or

Silicon carbide, hurled onto the surface of the carrier plate by means of compressed air and thereby breaks out tiny particles from the carrier plate, resulting in a
Roughening or
Matting the surface of the carrier plate adjusts.
The properties of the reflector plate in terms of their brilliance and uniformity
Brightness distribution is further improved if a coating of a plastic thin film is applied to the roughened front of the carrier plate, the coating of plastic thin film preferably comprising reactive mono-, oligo- or polymers which form a chemical bond with the material of the carrier plate , A further improvement of these properties of the reflector plate can be achieved if the coating made of plastic thin film is polished in the hardened state.
The invention will now be explained in the following on the basis of a non-restrictive exemplary embodiment.
1 shows an embodiment of an image carrier plate arrangement according to the invention in an exploded view from the side. The image carrier plate arrangement comprises a reflector plate 1. This consists of a transparent carrier plate 2 made of inorganic or synthetic glass. Mirror glass is particularly suitable for this. The back of the carrier plate 2 is provided with a reflective layer 3, which reflective layer can be constructed from any reflective material which can be connected to the carrier plate 2.
If the carrier plate 2 is constructed from suitable glass, the reflective layer 3 can preferably be produced by applying thin silver layers on the rear surface of the glass, by depositing a uniform layer of metallic silver on the previously carefully cleaned glass surface. Silvering can still be followed by copper plating. The applied metal layers are then protected against damage with special lacquers. Instead of silver, aluminum can also be applied to the glass surface by vapor deposition in a high vacuum. In addition to inorganic glass such as mirror glass, synthetic glass such as polymethyl methacrylate (PPMA) or polycarbonate can also be used.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The front surface 2a of the carrier plate 2 is roughened by sandblasting or harsh and thus matted in order to distribute reflected evenly
To allow light.
A coating 4 is made of the roughened front side 2a of the carrier plate 2
Plastic thin film applied, for example by spraying or manual or mechanical application with a roller or doctor. After drying the
Coating 4 is additionally polished. The coating 4 can advantageously consist of reactive mono-, oligo- or polymers which form a chemical bond or crosslinking with the material of the carrier plate 2, as a result of which the
Coating becomes permanent and a closed, smooth, thin film is formed on the surface of the carrier plate. The thickness of this film can be in the um range or even less. The coating expediently has hydrophobic properties.
The reflector plate according to the invention offers a very high reflection effect and brilliance and can be used as a high-quality projection surface, for example for image, light and laser projections or in architecture.
The described reflector plate 1 according to the invention is excellently suitable as a base for the image carrier plate. For this purpose, image information 6 in the form of text, graphics, photographs etc. is printed on the coating 4 made of plastic thin film.
Alternatively, a transparent film 5 can be arranged over the coating 4, which is printed with image information 6 'on one of its surfaces. To protect the image information, a transparent front plate 7 can be arranged over the image information 6, 6 'in both configurations of the image carrier plate arrangement.
The image carrier plate according to the invention represents the image information in impressive brilliance and brightness and with the achievement of a three-dimensional effect.
