Automatic coal feeder.
The present invention is a mechanically driven coal feeder for ring furnaces, chamber furnaces and similar ceramic furnaces.
The feeder consists essentially of one towards the pouring hole or fener hole

almost horizontally mounted conical or cylindrical tube opens, which through its
Turn the coals evenly into the furnace. The other end of the tube is closed by a funnel filled with coal.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the charging device is shown in section, with a conical discharge pipe.
The feeder consists of the housing a ujid the box b connected to it, which is designed as a top piece for an annular or chamber furnace pouring hole. In the upper part of b there is an opening c to watch the fire. The conical or cylindrical rotating pipe d, which is responsible for the actual filling, is supported almost horizontally in the housing T, one end of which opens into the K88ten b with suitable support, while the other end forms part e of the building, which is designed as a funnel encompasses at f. This hopper must always be kept filled with coal so that no outside air can enter the furnace from above.
The pouring pipe d is driven by an externally regulated drive mechanism (clockwork, electric motor or the like) arranged in the housing, the worm or small gear h of which engages with the ring gear i seated on the pipe d and so that Chute set in rotation.
By turning the chute, the feed material lying approximately at the angle of slope rolls evenly, slower or faster, depending on the setting of the engine, into the furnace, while the furnace itself is closed from above.
