Bei Steckanschlüssen sind gewöhnlich zur Ableitung auftretender Überspannungen Spannungssicherungen in den angeschalteten Apparaten oder in den Steckdosen vorgesehen. Diese Anordnungen haben den Nachteil, dass in dem ersteren Falle die Überspannung über die Anschlussschnur abgeleitet wird, während im letzteren Fall an jeder Anschlussstelle diese Sicherungen vorhanden sein müssen.
