Gleicchstromdampfmaschine.

Concurrent steam engine.
The invention relates to a direct current steam engine with a controlled inlet opening in the cylinder jacket that is common to both cylinder sides, through which the periodically entering steam flows through openings common to both cylinder sides, arranged in the circumference of the hollow working piston, through the same to the respective filling side, to here behind the in the stroke change located piston to kick and expand.
The invention aims to make such direct current steam engines more economical. The machine is very simple.
The essence of the invention is that the piston channel common to both cylinder sides (space in the working piston) communicates with the cylinder end recesses in such a way that when the piston retracts, the piston channel openings are covered against the expanding and outflowing steam by the cylinder running surface after filling is complete, as soon as the piston channel openings on the one hand the inlet opening of the cylinder jacket lying on the same generation line, on the other hand, the respective end edge of the cylinder running surface, whereby the piston channel is closed off and separated from the common controlled inlet opening in the cylinder jacket.
The steam trapped in the steam chamber underneath the inlet element relieves the control of the inlet element and heats the cylinder walls on which it is coated. while, on the other hand, the high-pressure steam trapped in the steam piston effectively heats it. The used steam is discharged in a known manner in cocurrent. After the compression of the steam, the compressed steam comes into contact with the piston channel and the cylinder jacket inlet opening and the pre-inflow begins on the opposite side of the cylinder, depending on the control. The piston channel does not come into contact with the outlet, but, as mentioned, remains filled with high-pressure steam. So it is not a harmful space.
The invention is described below with reference to the drawing, on which an embodiment is shown, namely Fig. I shows the longitudinal section, Fig. 11 shows the cross section of the machine.
Below a valve a controlled in a known manner, which periodically distributes the inflow steam for both piston sides, a steam chamber b ′ is arranged, below which the inflow opening b is attached in the cylinder jacket c. which, in turn, comes into contact with one of the openings of the duct e mounted in the piston, arranged one behind the other on the piston circumference, during the piston stroke change, while the other duct opening e 'communicates with the cylinder end recess in such a way that the live steam entering through the common inflow opening b during the piston stroke change c) into the cylinder end recess f behind can step and expand, driving the steam piston d in front of you.
The expanded steam is discharged in a known manner in cocurrent, with the steam chamber openings e 'remaining covered by the cylinder running surface.
