   Damit sich die Membrane 2 wesentlich gleichförmig auf ihre volle Breite durchbiegt, ist sie mit einem wesentlich starren, flachen Steg 14 versehen, der in einer zur Membrane senkrechten Ebene   aufwärtsreicht   und in der Mitte zwischen den Rändern der Membrane, parallel zu ihnen angeordnet ist. Der Steg ist vorteilhaft aus Stahlblech hergesteltl und an seiner inneren Kante mit einem flachen schmalen Flansch 141 versehen, der mittels Nieten, die durch ihn und die Membrane hindurchreichen, an dieser befestigt ist. überdies kann zwischen dem Flansch und der Membrane eine Schicht Leim, Kitt oder   dgl. aufgebracht   sein. Die Breite des Steges nimmt vorteilhaft von dessen Mitte nach   aussen   ab und seine Aussenkante ist vorteilhaft von Ende zu Ende gekrümmt, wobei er über die volle Breite der Membrane reicht. 



   Der   Nadelträger   3 ist an seinem inneren,   abgeschwächten   Ende mit dem Steg 14 und der Membrane 2 mittels eines metallstreifens 15 verbunden, der auf der Oberseite des Steges 14 aufliegt und mit demselben durch Lötung oder sonstwie verbunden ist. 



   Der Nadelträger 3 ist so angebracht, dass er in bezug auf das   Gehäuse 1   in irgend einer geeigneten Weise schwingen kann. 



   Es ist klar, dass sich bei Betätigung dieser Schalldose die Membrane zwischen den zwei Paaren von Dichtungen entsprechend den Schwingungen des   Nadelträgers durchbiegt, wobei   sich die   zurückgehaltenen   Ränder der Membrane abwechselnd einander nähern und voneinander entfernen. Ebenso ist es klar, dass sich die Membrane   hauptächlich längs der   Linie des Stegen 14 und wesentlich gleichförmig über ihre ganze Breite durchbiegen wird.

   So that the membrane 2 bends substantially uniformly to its full width, it is provided with a substantially rigid, flat web 14 which extends upwards in a plane perpendicular to the membrane and is arranged in the middle between the edges of the membrane, parallel to them. The web is advantageously made of sheet steel and is provided on its inner edge with a flat, narrow flange 141 which is fastened to the latter by means of rivets which extend through it and the membrane. Furthermore, a layer of glue, putty or the like can be applied between the flange and the membrane. The width of the web advantageously decreases outwards from its center and its outer edge is advantageously curved from end to end, extending over the full width of the membrane.



   The needle carrier 3 is connected at its inner, weakened end to the web 14 and the membrane 2 by means of a metal strip 15 which rests on the top of the web 14 and is connected to the same by soldering or otherwise.



   The needle carrier 3 is mounted so that it can oscillate with respect to the housing 1 in any suitable manner.



   It is clear that when this sound box is actuated, the membrane between the two pairs of seals flexes in accordance with the vibrations of the needle carrier, with the retained edges of the membrane alternately approaching and moving away from each other. It is also clear that the membrane will bend mainly along the line of the web 14 and substantially uniformly over its entire width.

PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Sound box for speaking machines and other acoustic instruments, characterized in that the membrane is only held along two parallel lines, so that it can bend uniformly over its entire width and approximately the shape of a cylinder surface with those lines as leading edges 2. Sound box according to claim l, characterized in that the membrane is held rectangular and along two opposite edges of the rectangle.

3. Sound box according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the membrane is resiliently mounted along the two parallel lines in the housing so that sliding of the edges can occur when the membrane is bent.
