 EMI3.1
is that the amplitudes are chosen in the correct size. In FIG. 7 a the primary field with the associated component field is shown, in FIG. 7 b the compensation field with the associated component field is brought into congruence. Because of the unequal field shapes of the component fields, different coverage images are obtained, but they show that there are again no residual fields of the third harmonic.

The general proof that with the specified winding distribution of the three windings of the potential regulator no residual fields of the third harmonic occur, and that with any position of the secondary part, results from this. that the resulting field in the present case is always composed of component fields which themselves do not have any third harmonics and the summation of fields which only contain certain harmonics only results in fields of the same harmonics, but never in this way B. a third harmonic from the addition of five, seven, etc. harmonics.

So one can generally say that in the component fields only those harmonics recur which are already present in the original field, and therefore it is precisely at
Potential regulators the use of windings whose ampere turns two-thirds each

are. However, this is not necessary. rather, the two windings of the stator, i.e. the primary winding and the compensation winding, can be combined into a single winding.

This could e.g. B. can be done by providing the stator with a closed direct current winding with a shortened step. whose winding pitch is equal to two thirds pole pitch. If current is supplied to such a winding in one axis, the resulting field again has the same trapezoidal shape. like a winding produced in the manner given above. If the direct current winding is short-circuited in the axis perpendicular to the power supply axis, a current flowing through the winding in this axis will also generate a trapezoidal field of the same type.

The direct current winding can therefore be used as a primary and as a compensation winding at the same time, and with one winding step it delivers fields of the desired shape equal to two thirds of the pole pitch. This direct current winding now has the sinoidally distributed winding
