Casting mold for cylindrical hollow bodies with cast hollow feet.

The present invention relates to a casting mold for cylindrical hollow bodies onto which feet are cast on the sides. In order not to cause casting stresses or in order not to have to take any special measures to avoid casting stresses, such feet are also cast hollow by giving them a U-shaped or box-shaped cross-section. In order to cast such cylinder bodies, the interior of which must form an uninterrupted surface, it is necessary, in addition to the outer mold, to produce a core for the cylindrical cavity as well as for each foot. This embodiment has also been transferred to cylinder bodies, in the interior of which indentations are permitted without any further, such. B. the housing of electric motors.

For these, if they are provided with two feet, three cores per housing have always had to be made. Of course, this means a substantial increase in the cost and slowdown of production.

The production becomes significantly more rational and economical with regard to the mass production, if a casting mold according to the present invention is used as a basis. The cavity of the feet is then combined with that of the cylinder, so that only a single core is required for the casting. The time for the production of the casting mold is reduced in this way to a fraction of that which is necessary for the molding of the previously common model.

The figures show an example of the implementation of the invention, namely the cast
 EMI1.1
shown, while Fig. 2 shows the side view with the section A-B. This casting is of course molded in such a way that the cylinder axis is perpendicular. As a result of the rail-shaped design of the feet j, the model can be lifted vertically out of the casting mold, then the core K is inserted, which has the approaches a at the point of the feet, and finally; rd closed the mold by the upper box.
