    Steilrohrkessel.

    Steep tube boiler.

The novel steep-tube boiler shown in Fig. 1 consists essentially of the upper boiler a and one or two laterally located lower boiler. b, c and the pipe system d.

The tubes e are divided into rows f and form a tube section g, which is arranged either perpendicularly or at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the boiler. Each pipe section g consists of two slightly S-shaped bent rows of pipes à, U8 (Fig. 3), which intersect to make it easier to replace the individual pipes. So there is a row of tubes alternating from bottom left to top right and the second row of tubes again from bottom right to top left (Fig. 1 to 3). If a tube is to be removed from the row of tubes, it is grasped at its lower end and pushed upwards (Fig. 3, 4), then turned to the left or right around its longitudinal axis, into the between the individual rows of tubes through the intersection of Pipes brought free spaces and then pulled down.

The pipes are introduced in the same way, but in reverse order. For better water circulation, large pipes h (return pipes) are provided at each end of the boiler.
