EMI1.1

<tb> 75 <SEP> # <SEP> Ledermehl <SEP> (gemahlene <SEP> Lederabfälle),
<tb> 7D <SEP> te <SEP> Harzöl,

<tb> 2500 <SEP> " <SEP> fein <SEP> gewaschener <SEP> und <SEP> geglühter <SEP> Sand.
<tb>

EMI1.1
The present invention relates to a method for the production of artificial building blocks or a mass for their production, which by virtue of their composition and the properties resulting therefrom are particularly suitable for waterproof basements, to protect against the ingress of groundwater, to avoid damp walls, for

are. The use of crushed or flour form leather as a component of artificial stone masses is known, as is the joint use of magnesia and water glass and finally the addition of bituminous substances, resins and the like to such masses.
In contrast, the following are used for the production of such building blocks according to the present process:
EMI1.3
<tb>
<tb> 550 <SEP> parts by weight <SEP> asphalt,
<tb> 250 ,, <SEP> Magnesia,
<tb> 75 <SEP> # <SEP> leather flour <SEP> (ground <SEP> leather waste),
<tb> 7D <SEP> te <SEP> resin oil,
<tb> 50 ,, <SEP> water glass,
<tb> 20 <SEP> # <SEP> concentrated <SEP> alum solution <SEP> as well
<tb> 2500 <SEP> "<SEP> fine <SEP> washed <SEP> and <SEP> annealed <SEP> sand.
<tb>
The magnesia with the alum solution and the leather flour with the water glass solution are softened separately from these substances. Then both mixtures are mixed with the still hot sand and then kneaded together with the resin oil and the asphalt while hot. The mass obtained, which is also used for joint sealing purposes, has a thick consistency when heated and it is recommended. Because of the even mixture, it is necessary to work through these thoroughly in a suitable agitator. In this state, if possible still warm, the material can then be shaped or pressed into stones of the desired size in any known devices and the brick produced in this way can be used immediately without prior storage in the air.
The amounts of the individual substances can be changed somewhat as required, but the ratios given should be the most suitable for most of the intended uses.
