Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren, um in keramischen und ähnlichen Betrieben, in denen mehrere Brennöfen nacheinander verwendet werden, die zur Abkühlung

und gleichzeitig die Abgase durch eine zweite Verbrennung rauchfrei zu machen. Dieses wird dadurch erzielt, dass die in dem abgekühlten Brennofen erhitzte Luft (die Kühlluft) und die Abgase des gerade brennenden Ofens vor einer Wärmeaustauschvorrichtung vereinigt und in bekannter Weise zum Verbrennen gebracht werden, worauf ihre Wärme in dem Wärme- austausehkörper zur Ausnutzung kommt.
Auf der Zeichnung ist eine derartige Anlage beispielsweise dargestellt. a. b. c. d sind die einzelnen Brennöfen, von denen gerade a entleert werden soll, b im Feuer steht, c abgekühlt und cl mit neuem Brenngut beschickt wird. Der Betrieb wird sich nun wechselweise so gestalten, dass immer nur ein Brennofen brennt, während ein anderer abkühlt : es stehen also immer die Abgase aus einem brennenden und die A bkühlungsluftmenge auf einem abkühlenden Ofen zur Verfügung.
