The release of the firing pin is initiated by the displacement of the sleeve e when the projectile tip k hits the target. This also results in the displacement of the two plate pieces along the conical surface v. The force required to move the plate pieces depends mainly on the tension of the springs u and the conical shape of the surface v. This enables the degree of sensitivity of the double detonator in the impact to be adapted appropriately to such goals as presented by aircraft.
As soon as the plate pieces are pushed down from the surface, they are spread out by the springs u from the recess of the firing pin and fall into the barely w, which is partly enclosed by the detonator body and partly by the projectile shell, in which the detonator x intended to ignite the explosive charge is located as long as until it is brought into an ignitable position by moving the sleeve, d. H. is pushed into the rifle y which extends into the explosive charge. In the event of an explosion of the detonator in space w, the projectile shown ignites the explosive. this is not possible, since, for the sake of safety, a discharge duct z is provided to the outside for the gases produced, which is closed by a plug 1 that can be easily removed from the gases.
As a result of the de-arming of the firing pin which has just been carried out, the spring force can act on it and hurl it against the firing needle which pierces the firing pill in the firing pin (FIG. 3). The jet of fire strikes through the hole 2 seen in the firing pin 01 to the detonator x, the detonation of which penetrates the can y and ignites the explosive charge.
Because the fuse is mainly intended for projectiles for bombarding aircraft. precautions have been taken so that the projectile can be detonated from the time fuse if the target is missed and the impact fuse cannot operate.
This is to prevent the projectile from detonating when it hits the ground after missing the target and injuring crews of the party that shot at the aircraft. From the annular chamber of the lower set ring c leads an opening 3 (Fig. 1 and 5)
EMI2.2
As a result of the explosion, the case is displaced and thus has the same effect as when the projectile hits, namely the release of the firing pin and thus ultimately the detonation of the explosive charge.
From the annular chamber of the sentence ring c still leads a channel 6 (Fig. 2 to 5) through the fire tube 7 to one in the not shown and completely separated from the explosive charge
