sends currents of the required phase and number of periods. The primary voltage, just as with direct balancing of the commutation reactance, is taken from an auxiliary machine or from a dynamo machine that works under similar or identical conditions as the main machine. This is because two dynamo machines operating synchronously with regard to commutation can be switched against one another directly by means of the pair of brushes or through transformers. In this case, an alternating voltage is created between each pair of brushes on one machine, which balances the reactance voltage on each pair of brushes on the other machine.
In general, the coils 6 and H belonging to different poles of a dynamo armature according to FIG. 2 and, in an analogous and analogous manner in multi-pole machines, also several closing coils belonging to different poles or poles of the same name can be linked electrically or magnetically.
The arrangement of the current converters and brushes can be modified in a known manner while retaining the described commutation device, also in such a way that instead of the two current converters only one is used with double pitch and the brushes are placed at an appropriate distance. In Fig. 3 such an example is shown in the scheme of a four-pole dynamo, the drum armature is wound so that only two brushes, z. B. the brushes 4 and 9 would be required.
On the 15-part
Commutators, the sectors of which are denoted by 2 on one half of the circle and 3 on the other, in analogy to the other figures, are the pairs of brushes, that is, according to the preceding
Description two brushes per pole, 4 and 5 or 9 and 10, diametrically at points of the same
Potentials.
The hoof machine can be made independent of the main machine in terms of speed, only the periolenhi induced in the auxiliary machine must be equal to the number of periods of commutation. According to Fig. 3, the auxiliary machine B. is wound with six poles, and in this particular case the stator winding is designed in two phases because of the phase-shifted position of the two pairs of brushes against each other.
The auxiliary machine is operated here by means of the indicated gear ratio at a speed that has to be 15: 6 to the number of poles of the auxiliary machine according to the ratio of the number of sectors of the commutator, because this determines the number of periods of the commutation.
