Die Maschine gewährt eine grosse Arbeitsleistung, da das Gasluftgemisch durch den Teil der Zylinder zugeführt wird, der dem anderen Teil, wo die Zündung stattfindet, entgegengesetzt liegt ; das Gemisch wird also bei einer verhältnismässig niedrigen Temperatur zugeführt, und deshalb kann eine grössere Menge frischer Gase in die Zylinder eintreten.
Da ausserdem das Explosionsgemisch beider Zylinder vor dem Kolben eines der Zylinder zurückgestaut wird, so unterliegt das Gemisch einer ersten Kompression und wird dann ein zweites Mal während der Rückkehr vor diesem Kolben und vor Eintritt der Explosion komprimiert.
Man erhält so ein komprimiertes, explosionsfähiges Gemisch, das höhere Betriebssicherheit, alsbeideneinfachenExplosionskraftmaschinengewährleistet.

The machine is very efficient because the gas-air mixture is fed through the part of the cylinders which is opposite to the other part where the ignition takes place; the mixture is thus supplied at a relatively low temperature, and therefore a greater amount of fresh gases can enter the cylinders.
In addition, since the explosion mixture of both cylinders is backed up in front of the piston of one of the cylinders, the mixture is subject to a first compression and is then compressed a second time during the return in front of this piston and before the explosion occurs.
A compressed, explosive mixture is obtained in this way, which guarantees a higher level of operational safety than both simple explosion engines.
